I’ve heard the old saying “You only have one chance at a first impression” why not make it your best! This has been drilled into me by my parents, grandparents as well as my friends, employer and coworkers.
With a professional Headshot on my social media accounts it will give my face to a name and this is my best chance to make a great first impression.
There has been many times that have I have gone online and said to myself “really” is that the best portrayal of themselves they could do? It makes me wonder how my potential contacts are reacting to their first impression of me.
I believe that a professional Headshot will help me to be taken seriously. I’ll stand out from the crowd and it will help me to stay Top of Mind to the people who I most want to be top of mind with.
If I want to be treated like a professional, I must look like a professional. Period.
A great Headshot is essential for my social media, online presence, networking & email messages it will help me to convey my personality and to stand out from my competition.
I want my potential clients, employer and business associates to know who I am and what I am about, this will help me make a connection, even before I meet them.
I don’t want to be “one of those” who rely on poor quality cell phone photos taken in bad lighting with distracting backgrounds by my friends and family who mean well but are by no means professionals.
I have asked my friends and associates who have gone through this process how they felt afterwards and they have told me about their increased confidence and positive comments that they received afterwards. It’s a real morale booster.
I feel that every professional needs an appealing image to support their brand and my business portrait is more crucial than ever. I want my Headshot to convey confidence and approachability in order to look my very best.
Ok, so what have you learned…?
Face it we have all done it… What is that you ask? Judge someone by the first picture you see of them… “They are using THAT picture for their first impression!” What did they do have their pet take it or did they put their cell phone camera on self-timer and toss it in the air and hope for the best?
Remember just like yourself, everyone can tell the difference between a professional Headshot and one that isn’t.
By making a small financial investment in a professional photograph, it shows that you take yourself as well as your profession seriously.
So why not give it a try yourself and you will see what we mean, even if your only result is a feeling of increased confidence from seeing your professional image out there - isn’t that worth it?
